RFI Ingredients is proud to offer a full line of certified-organic cereal grasses, spirulina and chlorella under our Sourcestainable™ Organic product line.

Grown on RFI-controlled certified-organic fields in South America and China, Sourcestainable™ Organic Cereal Grasses includes alfalfa, barley, wheat and oat grass spray dried juice powders and dehydrated powders. These products are gently processed as to protect the nutrients naturally found in the grasses. They are available in carrier-free versions or with alternative carriers upon request.

Sourcestainable™ Organic Spirulina is a nutrient dense natural product – a great source of protein along with many other beneficial components including Chlorophyll, Carotenoids, Phycocyanins, Phosphorous, Potassium, Manganese, Calcium, Chromium, Magnesium, Iron, Zinc, Vitamin A, B Vitamins, and Vitamin E. It is grown and processed on a tropical island in Southern China in a GMP facility. The resultant product provides a plant-sourced high protein powder with vibrant green color.

Considerable discussion and debate has risen with regards to the availability and production of organic spirulina. In October of 2005, the USDA’s National Organic Standards Board revised their regulations for the production of organic spirulina. Specifically, the NOSB disallowed the use of certain nitrogen fertilizers in organic spirulina production. Two leading producers of spirulina have ceased production of their organic spirulina, citing cost issues related to their use of NOP regulated fertilizers. Sourcestainable™ Organic Spirulina continues be USDA/NOP compliant for organic and is certified organic under the prestigious Ceres organic standards. We maintain a US inventory.
